1997 Jean Tardy Nuits-St.-Georges 'Les Boudots ' Burgundy France
Aromatically and texturally there is greater similarity to Vosne-Romanee than to Nuits-St.-Georges. That is, more velvet, more finesse, more exotic aromatics. A lovely, lovely wine.

1997 Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru Burgundy France
After the ravages of phylloxera in the late 1800s, the Latour family (Corton Charlemagne's largest landowner) uprooted dead Aligote and Pinot Noir vines and replaced them with Chardonnay. Corton Charlemagne is now Latour's flagship wine and the standard-bearer for the appellation. This is a lovely, medium-full-bodied wine with creamy, floral, honey fruit, and mineral notes. Aging in new French oak for 12 months added a toasted nut character. Best in 2-7 years.
Price: $109,95

1997 Paul Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle magnum Northern Rhone France
