1998 Ambroise Corton Grand Cru Rognets Burgundy France
The hill of Corton is one of the most dramatic features in all of Burgundy, yielding both grand cru Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. Red Corton is often labeled with the name of the "climat," or small vineyard site, as with this Corton Rognets. Bertrand Ambroise makes his Corton Rognets to last, as is evidenced by the wine’s deep, saturated color; dense, liqueur-like fruit; and well-structured tannins. Wait at least five years before touching a bottle and enjoy it through 2012. Imported by Robert Kacher Selections.
Price: $98,00

1998 Ambroise Nuits-St. Georges Burgundy France
Like the man himself, Bertrand Ambroise’s wines are big, thick, and powerful but upon digging deeper, you'll discover a velvety softness and complexity that is irresistible. Ambroise’s 1998 Nuits-St. Georges was aged in 50 percent new oak and offers a deep ruby color, oodles of berry-scented fruit, and a strong, sensational finish that will be best from 2003-2007. Imported by Robert Kacher Selections.
Price: $44,00

1998 Andrew Will Merlot Klipsun Vineyard Washington
Andrew Will is a winery with a big reputation for having such a short history, and this single-vineyard Merlot is a perfect example of what all the fuss is about. Merlot from Washington State is something special.

1998 Boyer Martenot Meursault Premier Cru Les Charmes Burgundy France
Feel the uncanny combination of power, finesse, and delineation of complex aromatics in a premier cru Les Charmes. Charming indeed, this 1998 vintage is characterized by attractive acidity and fine fruit concentration. Talented grower Yves Boyer-Martenot signed this masterpiece and suggests cellaring it until 2008 unless the temptation to pull the cork gets to you before then.
Price: $75,00

1998 Brundlmayer Gruner Veltliner Alte Reben Kamptal Austria
Produced mainly from 80-year-old vines grown at the Zobinger Heligenstein vineyard in the Kamptal district of northeastern Austria, the old vines contribute deep, white-pepper and mineral spice and bodacious gobs of downright funky peach and lime fruit.
Price: $49,95

1998 Chauvenet-Chopin Nuits-St. Georges Premier Cru Arillas Burgundy France
Nuits-St. Georges has no grand crus but it does have an impressive list of 36 premier cru vineyards. In the northern section of the appellation is Argillas, a site with a high percentage of gravel and pebbles in the soil, resulting in rich, full, and sturdy wines. Hubert Chauvenet is a young winemaker on the rise and we only wish we had more of his wines to sell. Imported by Robert Kacher Selections.
Price: $58,00

1998 Chauvenet-Chopin Nuits-St. Georges Premier Cru Murgers Burgundy France
If the village of Nuits-St. Georges were to own its own grand cru sites, Murgers certainly would be one of them. As one of the top vineyards in Nuits-St. Georges, Murgers is close to the Vosne-Romanee border and typically displays both elegance and a stony, meaty richness. The young Hubert Chauvenet has quickly captured the attention of wine critics and consumers alike with his clean, modern winemaking approach, while maintaining respect for the vineyard terroir. Imported by Robert Kacher Selections.
Price: $58,00

1998 Chauvenet-Chopin Nuits-St. Georges Vieilles Vignes Burgundy France
Hubert Chauvenet has learned how to make wine from two masters -- his father and his father-in-law, Daniel Chopin -- who have between them 100 years of winemaking experience. This Nuits-St. Georges comes from a village parcel named Charmottes that was planted in the 1920s. The wine's old-vine character is evident in its intense, concentrated flavor and rich body. Resist drinking it all now and cellar it for some 5-6 years. Imported by Robert Kacher Selections.
Price: $49,95
