1977 Graham's Porto 1.5 L Douro Valley Portugal
In 1977 Oporto had a cold spring and cool summer that delayed grape ripening, however, the weather changed for the better and it was the hottest autumn since 1963. Thick, flavorful, age-worthy wines resulted and this is one of the stars of the vintage. Michael Broadbent in his book, "The Great New Vintage Wine Book," describes this wine’s flavor best, "like liquorice Pontefract cakes -– as previously made in Yorkshire. Great future." Now you don’t have to travel to Yorkshire to know how Pontefract cakes taste.
Price: $181,00

1977 Warre's Port 1.5 L Douro Valley Portugal
Warre’s 1977 vintage port is a stunning wine that, for 20 years, was slow to evolve and it is just now beginning to soften, open up, and develop more complexity. Flavors of ripe plum and sweet cherry share the glass with hints of spice, tea, and anise. This terrific magnum should be at its best from 2005-2030. Also available in regular bottles for $119.00 while supplies last.
Price: $249,95

1979 Bollinger R.D. Brut Champagne France
R.D. stands for “recently disgorged” and refers to the process by which the yeast sediment is removed from a bottle of Champagne. During the time the yeast is in contact with the wine, all sorts of interesting, toasty, yeasty flavors are produced and the wine becomes more complex and creamy on the palate. The longer the wine stays in contact with the yeasts, the finer quality of the wine. Bollinger’s R.D. spends a minimum of eight years on the yeast prior to disgorgement and release to the market. The Bollinger 1979 R.D. is a remarkable bottle of wine, rich and elegant at the same time, and will serve to enhance any special occasion. Also available in magnums while supplies last.
Price: $220,00

1979 Bollinger R.D. Champagne 1.5L France
Bollinger’s 1979 R.D. is an exceptional luxury cuvee Champagne from one of the region’s finest producers. The 1979 R.D. has spent considerable time aging on the yeast in cool, limestone-walled underground cellars in Champagne. The wine’s depth and complexity of flavors, as well as the exquisitely fine balance can only come from this painstaking, long aging process. Critics say Champagne ages best in magnums -- you’ll have to buy one to test the theory. Also available in jeroboams while supplies last.
Price: $450,00
