Hailing from the unfamiliar commune of Listrac-Medoc, Chateau Fourcas Dupre may be less known, but it is certainly not a lesser wine. The 1996 Fourcas Dupre offers attractive red and black fruits typical of a classic red Bordeaux, with the requisite structure and tannin to last another six years.

Lynch-Bages is a fascinating example of how a Chateau that has always been seen as dependable, if not inspired, can become a shining star. While not at the level of the First growths, a case can be made for Lynch-Bages being a second growth. This is certainly so in their best vintages.
