1996 E. Guigal Cote Rotie 'Brune et Blonde' Rhone France
Since 1946, the firm of E. Guigal has been growing Cote Rotie in and around the town of Ampuis in the northern Rhone Valley. More than any other producer, Marcel Guigal, son of the founder, has brought this region and it's wines to our awareness over the last twenty five years. The Cote Rotie 'Brune et Blonde' is a perrenial favorite of ours; the 1996 edition is earthy and ripe with meaty textures and a silky finish.
Price: $44,00

1996 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne Northern Rhone France
The Guigal single vineyard Cote Roties are unquestionably among the greatest Syrahs -- and red wines -- produced anywhere. Unfortunately, they are also among the rarest and are difficult to find. The La Landonne is the most powerful of the three 1996s from Marcel Guigal and has the potential to age for decades in the cellar. It was produced from 100 percent Syrah grown in an extremely steep portion (65 degrees) of the Cote Brune portion of the Cote Rotie hillside. Availability is extremely limited.
Price: $265,00

1996 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline Northern Rhone France
La Mouline is the most elegant and silky of Marcel Guigal’s rare vineyard-designated Cote Roties. The vines average 60 years in age and the finished wine always consists of from 8 to 12 percent Viognier, giving it an extraordinary perfume. The 1996 is glorious now but will take on incredible complexity over the next 15-plus years in the cellar. Availability is extremely limited.
Price: $265,00

1996 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Turque Northern Rhone France
La Turque is the latest jewel in the crown of single-vineyard Cote Roties from Marcel Guigal. With the debut 1985 vintage, the wine quickly assumed cult status along with siblings La Mouline and La Landonne. La Turque is the last of these three great Syrahs to be harvested and consistently displays incredibly rich, saturated fruit and extraordinary complexity. The 1996 will easily age for 20-plus years in a proper cellar. Availability is extremely limited.
Price: $265,00
